Mental Health Ambassadors
One of our main priorities is to be committed to, and support, the health and wellbeing of children and staff. We start every half term with ‘Mindful Monday’ or ‘Take Notice Tuesday’ and conclude each half term with ‘Feelgood Friday’. These days focus on the children completing wellbeing and relaxation activities. A main focus for our school continues to be ‘The 5 Ways to Wellbeing’– connect, take notice, keep learning, be active and give. Please see our Twitter accounts which show how we address these areas through learning and activities. Mrs Murphy is a trained Mental Health First Aider. She has recruited a group of children to be Mental Health Ambassadors for our school. The children applied for this role and created a shield which outlined some of their personal qualities and explained why they would be a good mental health ambassador. We have a group of children who are empathetic, good listeners and supportive. Together they are committed to providing children in school an ethos where mental health can be spoken about freely. From next week they will be coordinating and running mindfulness clubs that will take place on a lunchtime. They have lots of exciting plans ahead and also look forward to learning more about this topic alongside our mental health and wellbeing governor.
